Our Values

Our Beliefs

  • We believe Scripture is “God-breathed” and without error (II Tim. 3:16).

  • We believe Scripture teaches Jesus was fully man and fully God while on earth (Phil.2:6-9, Col. 2:9).

  • We believe in the virgin birth of Jesus (Isaiah 7:14; Luke 1: 34, 35).

  • We believe in the historical creation of man. God created man as a unique spiritual being to know Him, love Him and serve Him (Genesis 1:26, 27).

  • The Bible teaches when an individual sins (violates God’s Word), that act of disobedience separates the person from the holy God. That person is now in need of a Savior (Gen. 3; Romans 3:23, 6:23).

  • The Bible teaches that God so loved the world that He gave us his Son (John 3:16). Jesus voluntarily left heaven, came to earth, and died for our sins on the cross (Colossians 2:13, 14; Romans 5:6-8).

  • The Bible teaches Jesus arose from the grave on the third day, which validated his claim that he was the Son of God, and that by the shedding of his blood, the penalty for our sin was paid in full (‘Dead’ John 19:30; ‘Buried’ Matt. 27:59-60, 65-66; ‘Resurrected’ Matt. 28:1-7; Luke 24; I Corinthians 15:1-11).

  • “While we were sinners Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). Salvation therefore is God’s gift to us. It is by grace, through faith in the work of Christ on the cross for our sins. When a person accepts Christ as Lord and Savior, they are then baptized (immersed) into Christ. The person reenacts the gospel. Dead in sins; buried in a watery grave; raised to newness of life by the power of God (Romans 6:1-5; Acts 2:38).

  • The Bible teaches the second return of Christ (John 14:1-4; I Thessalonians 4:13-18; Acts 1:11).

  • Every person will stand before God and his life will be evaluated by the Creator. Those “in” Christ are declared “right” with God’s Law. Those outside of Christ are declared “unrighteous.” The righteous enter heaven. The unrighteous into hell (II Corinthians 5:10; Matthew 25:41; Phil. 2:10).

Our Position In Words

At Hamilton Mill Christian Church, we hold to a simple posture:

In matters of faith, unity.
In matters of opinion, liberty.
But in all things, love.

We believe the church can be a place where people think deeply, disagree graciously, and remain united in Christ. We don’t have to see every secondary issue the same way to worship together, serve together, and love one another well.

Where the Bible speaks, we speak.
Scripture is our foundation and final authority.
We build our teaching, our decisions, and our life together on God’s Word.

Where the Bible allows room, we allow room.
Not every question is a first-priority matter.
On issues of opinion or interpretation, we offer freedom, patience, and humility.

No book but the Bible and no creed but Christ.
Our faith centers on Jesus, His Gospel, and His call to follow Him.
We need nothing more — and we want nothing less.

This is the posture that shapes our community: unity in the essentials, grace in the non-essentials, and love in everything.
